Fall is back! Let’s bikepack.

It is almost time for another group ride and campout. Here are some of the details for y’all to take note of:
This is a casual and open-invite overnighter. No registration is needed. First-time bikepackers are welcome, but intermediate riding skills are required.
Joining is absolutely free, however entering Whiskeytown (where we will be riding and camping) requires each individual on a bicycle to have an entrance pass. Passes can be purchased online, or at the Whiskeytown Visitor Center beforehand. A 7-day pass costs $15 per person.
We will start from the Redding Adventure Hub bike shop. Meet there at 10:30am on Saturday for a pre-ride meeting at 10:45am. Roll at 11am sharp. Show up enough ahead of time to have your gear packed and bike ready to go. It’ll be a chill-paced ride on the Sacramento River Trail towards Old Shasta via the Middle Creek Trail. We will then take Muletown Road for a gravel climb and descent into Whiskeytown, concluding at Peltier Bridge Campground (where multiple sites have been reserved).
Each rider is self-supported and should bring their own shelter, food, water, filter and gear to be comfortable. A pit toilet will be available at camp. Water can be filtered from Clear Creek or a faucet will also be available down the road at Horse Camp. This overnighter is weather-dependent and may be cancelled if a storm comes.
The route uses paved paths and roads, as well as gravel roads and some dirt trails.
Route Info — 35% Unpaved / 37 miles / 2,549 feet
